Farnham, Hampshire, November 2009 - Citroen Leasing, one of the U.K’s leading retailers of new and used Citroen cars have welcomed news from the French manufacturer of 2 new engine units for the Citroen C5 model.
This will see the popular family saloon upgraded with 2 cleaner and more efficient petrol and diesel engines, which will further enhance the model’s appeal to drivers looking to reduce fuel spend and lessen their carbon footprint. As well as significant cost savings on petrol; motorists will also be able to take advantage of road tax reductions. Company car users will also see their taxes cut, making the C5 an even more attractive proposition for business users.
As part of the changes, the VTR+NAV saloon model will now be offered with a 153bhp 1.6 turbocharged petrol unit, which will improve economy by an average of 18.5% and reduce CO2 emissions by around 16%.
A new 158bhp 2.0 diesel engine will replace both the 138bhp 2.0 and the 171bhp 2.2 units. This will be offered with either a manual or automatic gearbox and is available in both saloon and Tourer models at VTR+ NAV and Exclusive trim level. This will increase power by 14% and fuel efficiency by 3%. CO2 emissions will be cut by 4% offering lower road tax, down from £150 to £125.
